RLUSD reaches Coinbase customers

Coinbase added Ripple USD (RLUSD) to its retail app, Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Prime on 28 October. Customers in supported regions can trade and manage the dollar-backed stablecoin, including converting U.S. dollars into RLUSD at a stated 1:1 rate.

Deposits and withdrawals are supported on the XRP Ledger, Base and Ethereum. The three network options give customers different routes for moving RLUSD between compatible services.

More services are planned

The rollout does not cover every Coinbase product yet. Coinbase Global Exchange access, including the ability to use RLUSD as collateral, is planned for a later stage. Ripple also said it would provide liquidity for RLUSD on Base.

Ripple launched RLUSD in December 2024 with cross-border payments among its intended uses. The Coinbase listing extends the stablecoin's reach to another major retail and institutional trading venue.
