Stablecoins reportedly fund 75% of crypto casino deposits in new study

An iGB and RYKI report estimates stablecoins account for 75% of sampled crypto casino deposits. An independent TRM Labs analysis finds a roughly 70% share of longer-term on-chain gambling volume, but the measures differ.

What the new deposit estimate actually measures

An iGB Intelligence report produced with crypto payments provider RYKI estimates that dollar-pegged stablecoins account for approximately 75% of crypto casino deposits. The public summary published on 3 November 2026 says the analysis used six weeks of on-chain deposit data from March and April 2026. It does not establish a continuously measured global share across every online casino.

The report was produced in partnership with a company selling stablecoin settlement and custody services to gaming businesses. That commercial relationship is important context, especially because the public summary does not explain the full sampling method, the number of casinos covered or whether the share is calculated by deposit count or deposit value.

An independent dataset points in the same broad direction

A separate June 2026 study by blockchain analytics firm TRM Labs found that stablecoins accounted for approximately 70% of all identified on-chain gambling volume since 2022, equivalent to $117 billion of a $169 billion total. TRM also identified USDT and USDC as the dominant stablecoins in its measured activity.

The two studies measure different things: the iGB and RYKI figure concerns a six-week sample of casino deposits, while TRM Labs measured cumulative on-chain gambling volume since 2022. Their percentages cannot be treated as directly interchangeable.

Together, the studies suggest stablecoins dominate measurable on-chain gambling payments, but neither demonstrates that exactly three quarters of deposits at an individual crypto casino are made in USDT or USDC. The mix will depend on the operator, its accepted networks, player geography and the period measured.

Why operators and players care about the payment rail

The central attraction is denomination: USDT and USDC aim to remain close to the US dollar, reducing the additional exposure to volatile crypto prices between placing funds on a platform and cashing out. Stablecoins still carry issuer, custody, network and redemption risks, and a token's intended dollar peg is not a guarantee.

For operators, a stablecoin deposit is not the whole payment process. Wallet screening, custody arrangements, exchange conversion, settlement partners and local licensing rules determine whether funds can be accepted and paid out reliably. The RYKI report argues these infrastructure choices will become more important as stablecoin regulation develops.

Players should confirm that their selected network and token are accepted for both deposits and withdrawals. Faster blockchain transfers do not eliminate a casino's own identity checks, withdrawal approval rules or geographic restrictions.
